Yoga Retreat - Talamba Reef, Southern Coast

Join Darvina for a week-long nourishing yoga retreat from 1-5 December 2026 set on the sunny shores of Sri Lanka, held within Talamba Reef, a rare and beautiful stretch of coastline where tropical gardens meet the vastness of the Indian Ocean.

This retreat is shaped by rhythm rather than rush — strong, steady practices balanced with spacious afternoons, nourishing food, and quiet evenings guided by the sound of the ocean. It’s an invitation to move, rest, and reconnect in a setting that naturally supports all three.

The Villas & Setting

The retreat is held across Sulanga Villa and Vatura Villa, two exceptional villas that combine the best of contemporary Sri Lankan design with traditional materials and craftsmanship.

Set within two acres of lush tropical gardens, the villas offer privacy, space, and uninterrupted views that stretch beyond the cinnamon fence to the Indian Ocean. With no light disturbance, evenings are accompanied by open skies, ocean air, and the steady, hypnotic sound of the sea.

The location sits just a few minutes along the coast from Mirissa Beach, offering access to the shoreline while returning each day to the calm and seclusion of Talamba Reef.

Across the two villas you’ll find:

❋ Eight spacious en-suite rooms.

❋ Private bathrooms with bathtub and separate shower.

❋ Daily housekeeping with evening turndown service.

❋ Two swimming pools set right by the water.

❋ Open communal spaces designed for rest, meals, and connection.

❋ Wildlife is part of everyday life here — peacocks often move through the gardens, and monkeys live in the surrounding trees, adding to the sense of being immersed in nature.

❋ A small, professional house team supports the retreat quietly and attentively, allowing you to fully settle into the rhythm of the week.

The Practice & Daily Rhythm

Mornings

Each morning begins with a 90-minute practice, rooted in Rocket Vinyasa — energising, intelligent, and adaptable. Across the week there will also be opportunities for Mysore-style mornings, allowing you to meet the practice in a way that feels appropriate for your body and energy.

Afternoons

Afternoons include 90-minute workshops, offering space to explore inversions, refine movement, and dive a little deeper into specific elements of the practice. There is also ample time to rest by the pool, swim, read, or simply enjoy the surroundings.

Evenings

Evenings are slower and grounding, with 75-minute practices focused on yin yoga, breathwork, and meditation. These sessions are designed to help you unwind, soften, and prepare for rest.

There is also space to simply be — to read a book uninterrupted, swim under the fading light, rest early if that’s what your body is calling for, or sit and enjoy the soothing sound of the ocean.

Food & Nourishment

All meals are included and enjoyed family-style, creating a relaxed, communal atmosphere throughout the week.

You can expect:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided daily

  • Predominantly vegetarian meals

  • Flavourful Sri Lankan dishes made with fresh, local ingredients

  • On some evenings, fish or chicken may be served, alongside vegetarian options

Vegan, vegetarian, and other dietary requirements can be catered for — simply let us know in advance.

If you choose to eat off the property, those meals are not included and would be your own responsibility.
